SNG weekend camps are held at the SNG’s purpose-built mountain facilities at Tannourine 75km northeast of Beirut. Every Friday, 60 boys and girls aged 10 to 18, from different regions, religious and social backgrounds, arrive at the camp, attending the camp twice a year. They are divided into 4 mixed teams and compete in a series of team-building exercises, designed to encourage them to work together. These activities continue on Saturday morning. All the activities are led and supervised by SNG’s committed professional camp staff.
Saturday afternoon activities are season-specific and include archery, quad-biking (ATV), zip-lining and obstacle courses in summer and skiing and ski-mobile in winter. The children are encouraged to test their limits, supported by their new friends. While at the camp, the children also engage in educational English and computer literacy sessions. Evening activities include karaoke, films and a campfire. The children return home on Sunday afternoon having made many new friends from other regions and religious backgrounds. This is undoubtedly an experience that will live long in their memories.
